Tacos for dinner! Below is a delicious recipe for the best shrimp tacos I have had since my trip to Maui three years ago. So good! And best of all, you can buy all of the ingredients at Trader Joe’s! The best place, in my opinion, for affordable groceries.
Argentinian Shrimp Tacos
2 bags of Trader Joe’s frozen Argentinian shrimp
1 red onion
1 Trader Joe’s Organic Shredded Green and Red Cabbage with Orange Carrots
3 limes
1/4 stick of butter
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 cilantro
3 tablespoons of mayo
1 tablespoon of Siracha sauce
Garlic Salt
Pepper
1 Trader Joe’s corn and wheat tortillas
1 jalapeño pepper
Step 1:
Defrost the 2 bags of shrimp (run bags under cold running water for 15 minutes)
Step 2:
Cut 1/3 of onion into thin half slices. Put in a shallow bowl. Squeeze 2 limes into bowl. Cover and place in fridge for 20 minutes.
Step 3:
Mix mayo with Siracha sauce and 1 teaspoon of water. Add pepper.
Step 4:
Cut jalapeño in half. Remove seeds and dice into small pieces.
Step 5:
Cut cilantro for garnish
Step 6:
Place oil and butter in a sauté pan. Once hot, add diced red onion. Cook for 2 minutes and then add shrimp. Cook until well done.
Step 7:
Heat tortillas on stove.
Serving:
Step 1:
Spread mayo-siracha aioli on a tortilla, add some of the onions with lime, jalapeño, cilantro, cabbage and top with 3 shrimp.
