Welcome to Honduras! Let’s try something new!

Honduras is a country in Central America. It’s right in the middle of Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. I have never visited Honduras but I’m sure it’s a beautiful place (Hello, Caribbean Sea).

I have traveled to El Salvador and had the most amazing experience. We planned on driving to Honduras but unfortunately we didn’t have time.

There is an Honduran Cafe two blocks from my house. Literally. We went in a few years ago to them a try and we haven’t stopped going back.

The menu at Maya’s Cafe is quite big. So, you’ll have an array of dishes to chose from.

Their most popular one is a traditional Honduran plate and it’s called Pollo con Tajadas. A half-chicken, fried and sitting over plantain chips, topped with pickled cabbage and salsa. Delish!

My husband also recommends their baleadas. A thick flour tortilla filled with refried beans, cheese, and Honduran sour cream. They also offer a more elaborate version with your choice of meat and avocado.

Their service is also good. Although the food can sometimes take a while to come out, but hey, at least it means it’s cooked to order.

Their prices range from $3-$18. Not bad at all!
